Schwarzman Scholars Application- Training future leaders

Dear All,

From the Sponsors:

Applications for the third cohort of Schwarzman Scholars opened today, April 17, 2017, and we are looking forward to meeting another outstanding group of high-potential young leaders from around the world.

The second class of 129 Schwarzman Scholars, selected in the fall of 2016, is composed of students from 30 countries and 75 universities, with 45% from the United States, 20% from China, and 35% from the rest of the world. Schwarzman Scholars is quickly becoming the premier training ground for future leaders, educating and preparing the world’s most exceptional men and women to confront the difficult challenges of the coming century and develop an understanding of China.

This year, this unparalleled, fully-funded opportunity will be extended to up to 140 future leaders who will begin the program in August 2018. The program is open to students and young professionals between the ages of 18 and 28 years old, regardless of nationality, who are proficient in English and have obtained an undergraduate degree.

The application for the 2018-2019 cohort is now available on the Schwarzman Scholars website and will close on September 28for applicants from the United States and across the globe. We invite you to read the press release announcing the launch of this year’s application cycle for additional details. For applicants who hold passports from mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Macao, regardless of where they attended university, the application can be found on the Tsinghua University website and must be submitted by May 31, 2017.

In addition to evaluating applicants’ proven intellectual and academic ability, the admissions process is heavily focused on leadership potential, strength of character, ability to anticipate and act on emerging trends and opportunities, and desire to understand other cultures, perspectives, and positions. Those selected will have demonstrated their potential to not only benefit from but also contribute to the Schwarzman Scholars program and the network of Schwarzman Scholars alumni.

The written application will be reviewed by a distinguished team of readers from around the world who will narrow the pool based on an extensive set of guidelines. Approximately 400 semi-finalists will be invited to an in-person regional interview in Beijing, Singapore, London, or New York, and will go before notable panels comprised of CEOs, former heads of state, university presidents, non-profit executives, journalists, and other leaders from around the world.

Webinars and in-person information sessions for interested applicants will be hosted in April and throughout the next several months leading up to the application deadline. To find out more, please register for a session or contact us with any questions.

We look forward to staying in touch as our third application cycle begins.

With best regards,

Schwarzman Scholars
