This is to inform affected students offering GS courses, that there have been a reschedule of the failed GSP test which was held weeks back. The new date as was released by the Dean of the School of
General studies  is, 24-28th of April 2017.

How to Enroll in GSP Quiz Tests - UNN


If you are a student in UNN and you've not heard of Enrollment key, then you may not be offering the General Studies. For some times now, the management of the school, University of Nigeria has come up with the new idea the school general studies quizzes will now be computer based, and Not just computer based, the other interesting part of the whole thing is that students can stay anywhere to take the test provided there is access to the internet. 


The school has also made available WI-FI for all the students to access the net at any time, any day.
If you've not yet got your's, click here to see how to get your login details.

This post will guide you on how to enroll in the quiz.

STEPS TO ENROLL:
  1. Visit moodle.unn.edu.ng and login with your matriculation number (2016123456), eliminating the '/'  as username and your default password used in the student portal login.
  2. Scroll down to the "Course Category", and select the course you are offering. The courses available there are: 
SCHOOL OF GENERAL STUDIES
  • HUMANITIES 
  • USE OF ENGLISH 
  • USE OF THE LIBRARY
  • SOCIAL SCIENCES 
  • NATURAL SCIENCE
Though there are other options there to choose from, but for this course, GSP, we concentrate on these.

OBJECTIVES

Create an opportunity for students to present their business venture, product ideas or solutions in an environment that promotes new venture creation and the spirit of entrepreneurship
Award students on the merits of presenting their idea and the completeness of the idea with N75,000 and certificates of participation
Give students a chance to showcase their talent and passion for entrepreneurship

GENERAL COMPETITION GUIDELINES

The competition is FREE to enter and is open to UNN Students.
Individuals or Teams (max of 2 people) may register by filling out the application below

PROCESS AND JUDGING.


Judges will include entrepreneurs, consultants and other business professionals.
Online submissions will be judged and the finalists will be notified.
The Top 3 Startups will then compete in the final round on the 5th of May.
The winners will be announced at the end of the program.

FINAL ROUND GUIDELINES

The purpose of a pitch is to QUICKLY get the potential investor’s attention, let them know what you have and get them to say, “Tell me more!”
Distributing materials, samples and/or prototypes is permitted and encouraged.
Finalists will be required to present PowerPoint slides (max of 6)
During the final round, each person/team will be given five minutes to present their business idea, product idea or solution. Finalists will also answer questions from the panel of judges about their presentation.
VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES – Video Must be 2 MINS max

Remember to include:

  1. Opening – What is your business/idea/solution/innovation?
  2. What are you solving for and what is your proposed solution?
  3. What is your competitive advantage?
  4. How much capital is required to launch your Startup?
  5. Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo and share the link for your submission. It can be a private or public link, as long as our judges can access it.

OBJECTIVES

Create an opportunity for students to present their oratory and critical thinking skills in an environment that promotes leadership and transparency
Award students on the merits of presenting their view points and the completeness of thought with N80,000 and certificates of participation.

GENERAL COMPETITION GUIDELINES

  1. This is a 4 person team competition and the team captain and team name should be registered in the application below.
  2. At least 2 members must participate in submitted video.
  3. Choose to Defend or Argue against one of the topics below.
  4. Skill-based education panacea to the unemployment problems in Nigeria.

Reverting to an Agro-Dependent economy, a panacea to Nigeria’s economic woes.

PROCESS AND JUDGING

  1. Judges will include entrepreneurs and business professionals
  2. The Top 3 teams will be selected following the online submissions and finalists will be notified.
  3. The finalists will make a presentation on May 5th, 2017.
  4. The winners will be announced at the end of the event.

VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Remember to include:

Video has to be a maximum of 120 seconds – (2mins).
Remember to state your topic, your position and your conclusion
Make sure you speak clearly and that the submitted video is very clear. Feel free to reach out to friends and colleagues to review the video before you submit. VIDEOS THAT ARE HARD TO COMPREHEND OR VIEW WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Strengthen young people’s adequate understanding of other cultures: develop a tolerant attitude to cultural differences and respect for ethnic peculiarities with their unique forms of self-expression and artistic realization
Support emerging talents in their creative initiatives and promote choreography and other various artistic forms, performing and pedagogical aspects. The competition should encourage academic, professional cooperation and cultural exchange between participating teams.

GENERAL COMPETITION GUIDELINES

The competition is FREE to enter and is open all University of Nigeria Students.
Individuals or Groups (max of 6 people) may register by filling out the application below

PROCESS AND JUDGING


  1. Online submissions will be judged and the finalist will be notified.
